πŸ“ Honours Thesis

In 2018 I completed my undergraduate thesis where I investigated the relationship between creativity and visual perception.

Titled 'The Role of Individual Differences in the Perception of Ambiguous Visual Illusions' this research project investigated the perceptual experience of 120+ participants ranging from undergraduate students to industry professionals in a range of different fields.

The results found a relationship between performance on the Alternate Use Task and rapid restructuring of various bistable visual illusions. The paper was awarded a first grade mark, and won the undergraduate poster presentation prize. It’s currently under review for a journal- stay tuned!

πŸ₯Ό Lab Studies

Across 2017 I designed and piloted a further creativity study at UNSW that employed a visual illusion named binocular rivalry to similarly investigate the relationship between visual processing and creativity. This went on to become an honours students year long thesis experiment.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ’» Industry Research Collaborations

In 2019 whilst working in UNSW's Future Minds lab we began a collaboration with Curiious; a technology company designing an innovative new program designed to improve social emotional learning for high school students. The twist? The program was delivered in virtual reality, in a world with little personified creatures called 'the boxlings'.

We were brought on as Curiious' research partner and were responsible for designing a series of research phases to investigate the programs efficacy. I was part of a two person research team alongside Dr Sebastian Rogers, responsible for literature review, project design, survey design, research proposal, ethics submission and a small UX research piece.
